At Connect2Field we are always on the lookout for other products we think might help you to run your service business more efficiently. Shoeboxed are one of our partners and they have been working closely alongside us for a long time. Running a business whether it’s small or large can mean you have to deal with hundreds of receipts and business cards each day – and this can eventually become really stressful when you are trying to locate a particular receipt or contact details.

We can’t believe we’re almost at the end of 2011 already! We’ve had a busy and exciting year here at Connect2Field and we’ve enjoyed welcoming many new customers on board and watching Connect2Field evolve and improve along the way. We love hearing from our customers and have been lucky enough to come and meet many of you at your offices and hard at work in the field over the past few months.

Over the past few weeks, we have been working away on some large updates to the system which we are really excited about!

The main update you will notice is that our new Dashboard has now gone live! It has a few changes which we hope will improve the way you use Connect2Field. You will see in the screenshot above, you are now able to view a live snapshot of what’s happening right now in your service business! We will be adding more graphs in the coming weeks meaning you can stay on top of what’s happening, whenever and wherever you are accessing your Connect2Field account.

The Connect2Field Team

Keeping track of documents which are related to customer orders or your customer contracts can be tricky. Then sending those documents to your field staff can be even harder.

Luckily at Connect2Field we make this easy by enabling you to attach any type of document to a job; allowing your field workers to get access to those files wherever they are.

From the Job Central, we have created a new job and have added pertinent job information
Finally we choose to 'Save & Job Add Details'

1) We added Products/Services
2) Click on Documents tab at the top..

Click on 'Upload' button and select files from your PC..

For this example of a Roof Leak Job we have attached 2 images of the Roof Leak Location for the client..

We are finding more and more service businesses are looking at ways to reduce costs and improve productivity. Throwing out your local servers which store all your data and moving everything to the cloud is a great way of saving money but also improving the ability to access your documents anywhere at any time.

Keeping your customer documents inside Connect2Field means you know where they are at all times and you can easily make them available to your field workers.

All of the data is stored in the Cloud directly onto Microsoft Windows Azure Blob storage, this means all your data is stored on Microsoft servers and automatically replicated to different geographic locations.

In some instances, if you need to share documents between your staff that aren’t related to that particular job or customer then we would suggest you check out Dropbox! 

Dropbox is an intuitive program allowing you to store any file within a desktop folder accessible from multiple devices! It’s simple to download and especially useful for service businesses who need to share documents between multiple workers in addition to team members who work from the office. You can save anything from an image, PDF file or a word document.

The Dropbox client can be easily downloaded onto 2 or more devices (like an iPhone or iPad) and the contents within the Dropbox folder are synchronized automatically between them, instantly.
