We pride ourselves on never having lost a single piece of customer data. Our software has never been breached. We invest heavily to protect your sensitive personal and financial information against unauthorised access and in the rare instance of system failures. We place the utmost importance on ensuring your data is guarded to the highest level.
Our hosting and service delivery infrastructure provides the highest level of security possible. This is supported by a top quality network, data and physical security environment. Security is an ongoing process that requires careful monitoring therefore we ensure our security policy and practices are evaluated and reinforced on a regular basis.
Windows Azure
Our servers are located on the Windows Azure cloud platform. Windows Azure is a flexible cloud–computing platform which enables the creation of web based applications.
Access is restricted to authenticated entities within Windows Azure. Windows Azure minimizes interaction with data by keeping appropriate containers logically or physically separate.
Encryption is used internally within Windows Azure for protecting control channels and is provided for our customers which provides us with rigorous data protection capabilities.
As a service provider, Microsoft must comply with regulatory requirements of the governmental entities within whose jurisdictions Azure operates, along with industry regulations for the specific field in which they are operating. Microsoft's compliance framework is designed to address this challenge. The security for Microsoft's cloud infrastructure is managed by the Online Services Security and Compliance team, which maintains the security control framework and develops policies and programs for ensuring compliance and managing security risks. We currently host Connect2Field in the Singapore, USA and European Windows Azure Data Centres
Data Protection
All data within our system is replicated automatically to different servers based all over the globe so we can immediately recover your data if necessary. In addition to this we run daily backups to ensure maximum security.
Physical Security
The Connect2Field servers are located in Microsoft Windows Azure datacentre, which provide biometric access controls, constant surveillance, redundant power feeds and generators, robust fire suppression, and carefully monitored climate control to protect the servers that store your data and manage your billing.
Firewalls & Network Security
External access to our servers is protected by several layers of firewalls, intrusion protection systems and routers, which are configured and monitored according to industry best practice.
Our own internal office networks are isolated from any customer data by default.
Uptime
Pingdom is an independent 3rd-party reporting service that checks our online accounting servers constantly for availability and speed.
Continuity of Service
A good question to ask any service provider is "What will happen if you go out of business?"
Using Connect2Field you have the ability to export your data at any time. (Check this help document for details) This means you can have access to your data without the need to use Connect2Field. Connect2Field is a well funded business and customer base is growing each year it would be very unlikely we would go out of business.
If we were to go into administration we believe we would:
- Sell the customer base and also the intellectual property to a competitor or new owner
- Keep the servers running. The the running of a web application is quite low and it would be sensible to leave the application running pending a sale of the the intellectual property and the customers.
- If we weren't able to achieve the above we would put the code into the public domain so customer could host or run the application themselves.
